The Parlux Alyon is a professional Italian dryer for people with thick hair who want strong airflow and a build designed for heavy use. Parlux quotes 2,250 W and 84 m³/h of aligned airflow from its K-Advance Plus motor. What sets it apart from most rivals is a hygiene angle: an anti-microbial painted finish enriched with silver powder and a hair catcher system to protect the motor.

Our take
Motor and airflow
The K-Advance Plus motor delivers 84 m³/h, according to Parlux, which is just below the 88 m³/h quoted for the Parlux Digitalyon. Parlux says the airflow is perfectly aligned, which should mean less scattered air and a smoother finish as you brush. With 2,250 W behind it, there is plenty of heat available for dense, long hair.
In everyday terms, high airflow volume moves water out of thick hair faster than heat alone, so drying time is the main gain.
Controls and settings
There are four temperature settings and two speeds, set by two switches placed for comfortable thumb access. An instant cold shot button sets the style at the end. Air Ionizer Technology is built in to support healthy drying and reduce static.
The spec table also lists a concentrator nozzle as included; a diffuser is not mentioned.
Maintenance and build
The anti-microbial coating is certified, Parlux says, and creates a surface that discourages micro-organisms, which may appeal in shared salons or family bathrooms. The hair catcher is designed to keep hair out of the intake for better running and a longer lifespan. Clearing it regularly is the main upkeep job.
Parlux also points to recyclable materials and packaging, low noise and energy savings from fast drying, though no decibel figure is given. The spec table lists 1.36 kg, likely including packaging, and the listing does not state cable length.
Alyon against the Digitalyon and Dyson Supersonic Origin
The Parlux Digitalyon goes a step further on paper with 2,400 W and 88 m³/h and adds a Melody Silencer. The Dyson Supersonic Origin is much lower in wattage at 1,600 W, quotes 13 litres per second, and weighs a stated 640 g. The Alyon sits between them as a classic professional dryer with a hygiene-focused finish.
Verdict
Pick the Parlux Alyon if you have thick or long hair and want salon-level airflow with an anti-microbial finish and hair catcher. If you want the most stated power, the Parlux Digitalyon is the step up, and if a lighter body matters more than wattage, the Dyson Supersonic Origin is worth comparing.
