Shark FlexStyle 3-in-1: curlers, oval brush

The FlexStyle 3-in-1 is the stripped-back member of Shark's multi-styler family. It keeps the twist-to-dry handle and the Coanda auto-wrap curlers, then adds just an oval brush and a concentrator. That makes it a sensible fit for someone who wants curls and a smooth blow-dry without paying for heads they will not use, and who still wants a regular hairdryer in the same tool.

Our take
Three tools, three jobs
Shark sums it up as curl, volume and straighten. The two auto-wrap curlers use Coanda airflow to wrap, curl and set; the oval brush handles volume and smoothing while drying; and the concentrator focuses airflow when the handle is twisted into dryer mode. A styling guide is included.
Curler diameters are not given on this listing, so it is not clear how well they suit very short cuts.
Power, heat and weight
The 3-in-1 is rated at 1,400 W, lower than the 1,650 W FlexStyle 5-in-1 and 1,750 W FlexStyle IonCurl. There are three speeds and three heat settings. Heat is measured 1,000 times per second according to Shark, with more softness and shine and less frizz claimed compared with air drying.
The stated weight is 700 g, the same as the 5-in-1 editions, so trimming the kit does not make the handle lighter.
Who should skip it
Anyone with curly or coily hair will miss a diffuser, which is not in this box. Long, thick hair often benefits from a paddle brush for smoothing large sections, also absent here. The listing model code ends in EU, so check the plug type on arrival if that matters to you. For straight or wavy hair that only needs bounce and a smooth finish, though, none of those omissions is likely to matter much, and fewer heads also means less to store.
Against the 5-in-1 and the Clara 6-in-1
The Shark FlexStyle 5-in-1 with 32 mm and 24 mm curlers adds a smaller curler and a FrizzFighter, which helps short hair. The Clara 6-in-1 offers left and right curlers, round and oval brushes and a concentrator at 1,500 W, but it lacks the twist-to-dry body and does not state a handle weight.
Verdict
The FlexStyle 3-in-1 is right for straight to wavy hair where curls and a brushed blow-dry are all you need. If you want a smaller curler or a finishing tool, the FlexStyle 5-in-1 with 24 mm curlers is the better choice, and curly hair calls for a diffuser model such as the FlexStyle IonCurl.
