The Panasonic EH-NA9N is a conditioning-focused dryer for people who care as much about how hair feels after drying as about speed. Its headline is nanoe technology, which Panasonic says delivers ultra-fine water particles to hydrate hair and scalp, backed by mineral ions and two temperature sensors. Add a folding handle, a diffuser and a stated 500 g weight, and it is a well-rounded everyday dryer rather than a speed specialist.

Our take

Nanoe, mineral ions and what they aim to do

Panasonic describes nanoe as a stream of very fine water particles that hydrate hair and scalp for a shiny, frizz-free finish. The mineral ion feature is said to tighten the cuticle and improve adhesion, reducing split ends and damage from brushing. Zinc ions are mentioned alongside nanoe in the special care modes.

These are the maker's claims about hair condition, and the listing does not quote a percentage or a comparison basis for them.

Sensors and care modes

Two built-in sensors read the air and ambient temperature and adjust settings automatically to avoid excess heat. That is useful if you tend to leave the dryer on its hottest setting by habit. Special modes cover hair, hair tips, scalp and skin, the last of which is unusual in a hairdryer and reflects Panasonic's beauty focus.

The spec table lists six settings at 1,600 W. Panasonic also mentions enhanced airflow that limits wind loss and raises air pressure, but gives no airflow or motor speed figures.

Attachments, folding and curly hair

A quick dry nozzle is built in, and a concentrator and diffuser are included. The diffuser makes it relevant for curls and waves, and the concentrator handles brush blow-drys. The handle folds, which helps with drawer storage and packing.

At 500 g it is lighter than many conventional dryers, though heavier than the Laifen Swift Special at 407 g and the Elchim Anemos at 290 g. Cable length is not stated.

EH-NA9N against the EH-NA0J and the Laifen Swift Premium

The Panasonic EH-NA0J adds nanoe MOISTURE+ and a hot and cold alternating mode, but Panasonic does not give its tool weight. The Laifen Swift Premium uses a 110,000 RPM motor and 22 m/s airflow with a wall mount, for people who want speed first. The EH-NA9N sits between them as a light, folding, care-led option with a diffuser in the box.

Verdict

Choose the EH-NA9N if you want a conditioning-focused dryer that folds, includes a diffuser and adjusts its own heat. If drying speed is the priority, the Laifen Swift Premium is the stronger fit, and if you want the newer MOISTURE+ system, compare it with the Panasonic EH-NA0J.
