The Elchim Anemos is a professional dryer built around one figure: 290 g. That is the lightest weight listed among the dryers in our guides, and Elchim pairs it with a 110,000 rpm micro-brushless motor and 1,800 W of power. It is aimed at people who dry their hair daily and find heavier dryers tiring, as well as stylists who hold a dryer for hours.

Our take

The specification in plain terms

Elchim lists a digital micro-brushless sonic motor at 110,000 rpm, a concentrated flow of 1,000 litres per minute at 55 mBar of pressure, and a noise level of less than 69 dBA. Power is 1,800 W. Few rivals publish both airflow volume and pressure, so the Anemos is easier to judge on paper than most.

For comparison, the Dyson Supersonic Origin lists 13 litres of air per second, which works out at 780 L/min, at 3.5 kPa. The two figures use different measuring points, so treat the comparison as a rough guide rather than a direct contest.

Care features and maintenance

An ionic system is included to support smoother styling, and the filter is replaceable. A replaceable filter matters on a high-speed dryer, because a clogged intake reduces airflow and makes the motor work harder. Elchim describes its ergonomics as balanced and made in Italy.

The listing is brief and does not state the number of heat or speed settings, the cable length or which nozzles come in the box.

Weight and noise in daily use

At 290 g, the Anemos weighs less than half of many conventional dryers, and well under the 407 g Laifen Swift Special. Lighter tools reduce wrist and shoulder strain on long or thick hair. The under 69 dBA claim gives a concrete number to compare, though Laifen states a lower 59 dB for the Swift Special.

Anemos against Laifen and Parlux

The Laifen Swift Special includes three magnetic nozzles, a diffuser among them, which the Anemos listing does not mention. The Parlux Digitalyon offers 2,400 W and a long cable for very thick hair, at a heavier traditional build. The Anemos is the pick when lightness outweighs extras in the box.

Verdict

Buy the Elchim Anemos if you want the lightest dryer here with published airflow and noise figures. If you need a diffuser and other nozzles included, the Laifen Swift Special is better equipped, and for maximum wattage on very thick hair, look at the Parlux Digitalyon.
